READING FC Under 23s recorded stunning comeback win against Brentford B, writes Jim Tatum.

Garath McCleary featured again in Tuesday's 3-2 friendly victory at Hogwood Park.

Royals trailed 2-0 before rallying in the second half with goals from Ethan Coleman, Adam Liddle and Josh Barrett completing a brilliant fightback from Scott Marshall's men,

The game was played at a fierce tempo from the first minute to the last, with chances for both sides in the first 10 minutes, before Brentford took the lead through Joe Hardy.

Reading fell further behind on the half hour mark when Reece Cole powered in a free kick past Royals keeper, Liam Driscoll, to double the Bees’ lead.

After the restart, the Royals came out firing and scored inside a minute when Coleman smashed in from 25 yards after good work from Pelle Clement.

Reading saw a number of chances go begging, but were rewarded just before the hour mark when they pressed the Brentford defence into a mistake, which Liddle capitalised on with a fine strike into the top corner.

The comeback was completed when Jamal Balogun’s cross picked out Barret,t who powered his header past the Bees keeper.

McCleary got another 78 minutes under his belt as he continues his long road back to fitness, and the Jamaican winger was impressive down the right flank for the Royals.

Fellow first-teamer Andy Rinomhota also featured in the friendly match for the Royals.
