WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook secured their first win of the season by beating Bicester Town 5-1 in Division One East of the Hellenic League at Larges Lane.

The Sumas started well with Josh Harris hitting the post and seeing another two efforts blocked by the visitors.

The pressure paid off when a superb delivery from Ben Broadhurst was powerfully headed home by George Marsh and the provider later went close himself with a drive that flew just over the bar.

Bicester, fortunate to be just one down at half-time, began the second half strongly and twice struck the crossbar, only to be caught out by a swift break which led to Sumas doubling their lead with Marsh turning in a cross from Dan Carter.

Sam Lawrence made it 3-0 before Bicester deservedly pulled a goal back, but there was no stopping the Sumas and Connor Holland’s first senior goal made it 4-1 with fellow substitute Danny Blatchford completing the scoring.

The Sumas are away to Burnham this Saturday.
