Reckless arsonists started blazes in fields and scrubland behind the Hawthorns estate in Poyle last night - bringing firefighters out twice.

Crews from Slough and Langley were called to the scene at 6.35pm where they found five or six acres of field and scrubland blazing.

They used a hosereel and old fashioned leather beaters to bring it under control over a two hour period.

They had to return at about 12.30am after another blaze was started which took three quarters of an hour to clear it up.
