Slough firefighters raised an amazing £2,590 for the charity Meningitis Now when they held their charity car wash at the station.
Drivers turned up in force to have their cars cleaned by the team, who are more used to turning their hoses on vehicles that are on fire.
The event had a special meaning for firefighter Ben Martin-Stone, whose granddaughter Freya-May died of meningitis last year aged three.
The charity Meningitis Now was established following a merger between the Meningitis Trust and Meningitis UK in 2013.
Ben said: "I would like to thank all who came down today - £2,590 is a fantastic amount to have raised."
