A local pizza restaurant has boosted its hygiene rating, thanks to the hard-work of staff at the establishment.

Herbies Pizza, of Farnham Road in Slough, has been given a rating of 1* by the Food Standards Authority. This understandably came as a great shock to the establishments owners who began work on improving the restaurant’s rating.

The pizza eatery is now happy to confirm that in a recent inspection, its score has been boosted to a 4* rating on the back of the team’s hard work. The authority has also confirmed that with a few more minor alterations, the restaurant will achieve a 5* rating.

Priya Sharma said: “We have always achieved a high rating. It is unfortunate because of locality we have suffered from recent events.

“However, over the course of the last few months we have gone back up again. It has all taken place within a few months. We have tried extremely hard to get our rating back up and we have got there now, and we are not going to slip.

“It’s been almost 40 years that we have been trading so we’re doing something good for the local community. We’ve got a lot of loyal customers who, if anything, were more shocked than we were because they have been with us since day 1. The council are working with us every other week or so and we’re still standing, so we must be doing something right.”
