The deadline is fast approaching to apply for pots of up to £750 for projects aimed at getting increasing activity levels of 35-55-year-old males in Slough.
Slough Borough Council are aiming to fund organisations that are working to make a change for men who currently participating in less than half an hour of activity per week.
Applications can be made from:
• Community groups
• Sports clubs
• Charities
• Voluntary organisations
• Youth groups
• Leisure providers
• National governing bodies
• Scout groups
• School and educational organisations
With levels of activity in Slough declining in recent years, the move is aimed at providing a preventative measure against chronic health conditions such as premature death, type two diabetes and the loss of muscle mass. The council have also stated that they hope the increased levels of participation will assist with the development of social opportunity, community integration ad community development.
The deadline for application is 5pm on 15 February. Projects that funding will support must commence on 22 March 2019. For more information and to apply for the funding, click here.
