The Safer Slough Partnership (SSP) have announced the appointment of two new joint chair people.

Josie Wragg, Slough Borough Council’s chief executive and Superintendent Sarah Grahame, Slough LPA will take up the role. The Partnership is mainly focused on reducing crime, violence and harm and increasing the feel of community across the town.

The partnership have also developed an updated logo and a new look website which it is hoped will raised awareness of the SSP. The new branding has already been used in campaigns across the town, including Modern Slavery and International Men’s Day campaign.

Josie Wragg, co-chair of the SSP, said: “One of the purposes of The Safer Slough Partnership is to bring together resources and expertise from a range of organisations across Slough and work on issues affecting our town jointly.

“Ultimately we want Slough residents to be safe and feel safe, and to protect the vibrant and diverse community that we pride ourselves on.

“To achieve this we will work together to challenge violence and help to protect people, we will work with communities to increase resilience and we will look to be ahead of the game and work to challenge any new risks to our residents, such as modern slavery.

“I am delighted to be part of the SSP and look forward to working closely with all our partners to deliver effective joint working which will benefit our residents and our town.”

Superintendent Sarah Grahame, co-chair of the SSP, said: “A fundamental role of the Police is to keep people safe, and I am delighted to be joint chair of the Safer Slough Partnership with Josie Wragg.

“This shows the shared commitment we both have to listening to the people of Slough to identify areas that make them feel less safe, and put in place joint solutions with our partners to make Slough a safer place.

“I am really proud to work in Slough and this partnership shows the close and effective working relationships Slough has with both public bodies, voluntary sector and private organisations. I look forward to the exciting initiatives we will be involved in over the coming year.”
