FUN SUPPLIES are being asked for, by Wokingham council, so they can be donated to elderly residents and families in 'wellbeing goody-bags'.

The idea of the 'wellbeing goody bags' is to make life easier for those who may feel forgotten during the current coronavirus crisis.

These bags, containing fun things from colouring books to top trumps, will be issued to elderly residents and families in the Wokingham Borough.

Wokingham Borough Council are aiming at supplying both young families and the elderly in the community, and so are asking for different things for each:

For the elderly, the borough is asking for handwash, hand-cream, puzzle books, jigsaws, magazines, hand-written notes and letters, colouring books/pencils, hamper-style goodies and sweet treats.

For families in the borough, the council asks for donations of hamper-style goodies, pencils, colouring books, jazzy pens, magazines for both children or adults, drawing paper and sketch books, sweet treats, puzzle books,

educational books, and small games, such as Top Trumps.

A spokesman for Wokingham Borough Council said: "We don't want anyone to feel forgotten during this crisis, so we're keen to get together to improve the wellbeing of families and individuals in our community.

In other words, we'd love to put some smiles on faces and cheer people up.

"Along the lines of the Christmas Shoe-Box appeal, you can support your community by putting together a bag of goodies and treats in supermarket 'bags for life'.

"These can be delivered to the Wokingham Borough community hub, where they'll then be safely distributed to those who really need them."
