Simon Singh is a particle physicist and author of ‘The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets’.
He spoke to students from Year 11-13 about his love for mathematics, and how Professor Andrew Wiles devoted his life to proving Fermat’s Last Theorem.
Mr Singh also demonstrated how maths is hidden in the popular TV show ‘The Simpsons’, a programme that he has himself has featured in.
Head of Maths Katy Prince said: Simon’s passion for the subject was incredible and it was great to see so many of our brightest mathematicians problem solving and experiencing a taste of what it would be like to study maths at a higher level.”
