A CARE home in Wokingham is inviting residents to a training session to become alzheimer’s aware.

The session will take place at the West Oak Care on Friday, April 26 where attendees will learn about what it’s like to live with dementia and how to turn the understanding into action.

Geoffrey Honour, general manager of West Oak Care Wokingham, said: “We’re really looking forward to reaching out to those in the community with experience with Alzheimer’s and dementia, either themselves or with a loved one.

“The conditions can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more understanding we have the better. Our team here at West Oak are always available to provide support and advice about care to anyone who needs it."

Liz Allen from Alzheimer’s Research UK will be on hand to share her expertise and more about the charity and the developments in alzheimer’s research.

The session is free and starts at 2.30pm.
