RESIDENTS from a care home in Wokingham have been dressing up as Elves to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Berkshire Care Home in Wokingham had 21 of their residents dress up as Elves on Friday, December 7.

Team members who dressed up with them made donations, residents and relatives donated by guessing how many sweets were in a jar.

Rubina Bala, receptionist at The Berkshire Care Home said: “It was a very cheerful and friendly atmosphere at The Berkshire Care Home on Elf Day. I enjoyed dressing up and loved how entertained residents and staff were by that.

“Some of our elves even did a little funny dance and there was Christmas music, tea and cupcakes. We’re very proud of how much fun we have here, and very happy to raise money for a good cause.”

As well as dressing up as Elves the residents who took part also made their own hats to wear as part of their costumes.

Denise Arthur-Briskham, Regional Support Manager at the home added: “it was so lovely to see the residents joining in making their own elf hats.

“Donald had great fun making his with enormous ears, he told me he would be able to hear me better when he wears his hat.”

The Berkshire Care Home, who currently care for 43 residents raised £53.75 to donate to the Alzheimer’s Society. For more information on the charity visit https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/
