AMAZING people in Bracknell and surrounding areas have been giving up their time to show appreciation to the NHS.
From delivering food parcels, running 100 laps or stitching 8,000 hospital gowns, our community has truly been wonderful during this difficult time.
So we thought we could show them a little appreciation of thanks for their selflessness and hardwork in helping the NHS frontline staff fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
What has happened in the past week:
1. Ascot woman's heroic acts of kindness
Georgie Tindall from Ascot burst into tears last week after finding out her community had raised THOUSANDS of pounds for her and her little girl to go on holiday to Disneyland Paris.
The single mum had been using her time apart from her daughter Frankie during Covid-19 to make up care packages for care home staff, collect PPE and deliver food parcels to hospitals.
2. Sebastian's 100 laps for charity
Eight-year-old Sebastian Watts from Bracknell has successfully beaten his £1,000 fundraising target for the NHS along with his sister Annabelle after seeing Captain Thomas Moore raise millions for the NHS.
He says he calls the NHS 'heroes' and wanted to do something to give them special support during the coronavirus pandemic.
3.Bracknell Forest Runners' Dawn Till Dusk challenge
Bracknell Forest Runners clubbed together on Saturday, April 25 where four teams of runners took part in a relay from 5am until 8.30pm.
Dubbed as the 'Dawn till dusk challenge', the day saw four teams of runners with each person running a half hour slot in club kit and virtually passing on a baton, which was either a spoon or toilet roll.
4. Scrubs Glorious Scrubs!
Two businesses have partnered with a Frimley Park Hospital to produce 8,000 gowns for the NHS in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
EIZO Limited and Lynda Yong have manufactured the scrubs to be delivered to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The second floor of specialist monitor manufacturer, EIZO Limited, has been transformed into a temporary sewing workshop.
5.Nursery manager volunteers to deliver food parcels to hospital patients self-isolating
A 'hero' volunteer has gone the extra mile to deliver food parcels for vulnerable residents self-isolating.
From collecting shopping at supermarkets to delivering food parcels in the evenings and weekends, Kelly has not stopped helping those who are in need during the coronavirus crisis.
