A MAN has been attacked by a group of people in Reading and had his mobile phone and cash stolen.

Thames Valley Police has arrested three people after the robbery which happened on Saturday, March 28, in Elgar Road South.

The force said it happened between midnight and 1am.

A 41-year-old man reported to officers that he had been assaulted and robbed by a group of people.

The victim suffered an abrasion to his head and had £20 stolen from him as well as a mobile phone.

As part of the investigation, a 34-year-old man, of no fixed abode, a 45-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both from Reading, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been released on bail until April 24.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Amelia Tanner, based at Reading police station, said: “We are investigating this incident, which we believe to be isolated, and have made three arrests.
