Jessica who is a student volunteer explained how she admires Citizens Advice after the help they provided to her family when they were in need.

She said: "I always knew I wanted to volunteer at Citizens Advice because of the great support they provide to people across the UK so when I encountered them at my University’s pro bono fair I applied.

"The staff are lovely — so supportive and caring that you can’t help but enjoy your time you give. The work is really rewarding and makes you feel good because you know you’ve helped someone who might have been stressed and struggling with a problem that they couldn’t solve without your advice or information."

The support service has provided help to 2,929 clients in 2019 on over 18,000 different issues.

Citizens Advice Bracknell said they have increased clients income by an estimated £906,837 and reduced people's debts by £495,546 which in turn helps the local economy.

The centre is always keen to get more volunteers on board and said their time is "priceless".

Jessica added: "I would say to other University students out there seek out your local Citizens Advice and get stuck in.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and the work you do is so rewarding and fulfilling. Everyone is so supportive and they all rally behind you because they want to help you help others."
