Slough Council teams were kept busy all day as gale force winds lashed the country yesterday - but fortunately there were no serious incidents.
Langley firefighters were called out at noon to Bath Road, Colnbrook where a tree had fallen onto a car. The driver was unhurt but the road closed briefly while a council team cleared the tree off the road.
Other trees across the borough fell victim to the gale.
A spokesman from Slough Borough Council said: “We dealt with several fallen trees and two road traffic incidents yesterday due to the weather. Our teams worked constantly throughout the day to ensure roads were cleared and fallen trees were cleared and areas made safe for residents.”
At 1am this morning firefighting crews from Slough and Langley were sent to Old Bath Road, Poyle - arriving to find 60 tonnes of scaffolding has fallen onto a private railway track in the industrial estate.
Crews worked to make the scene safe before handing it over to the police and the British Pipeline Agency - which operates oil pipelines in the UK.
