Members will be in Reading from 10am – 5pm on Saturday, January 25 and 11am – 3pm on Sunday, January 26.

They'll be holding taster wheelchair basketball sessions, with sports wheelchairs on hand for anyone aged 5 and older to have a go and shoot some hoops.

The event is free to take part and anyone giving it a go doesn't have to have a disability.

However, the club will be taking donations to go towards buying 24 seconds shot clocks (specialist basketball equipment) which are required due to their recent success on the court.

The club offers one of the few opportunities for people with physical disabilities to participate in sport, thus enabling them to improve their social skills and confidence as well as introducing them to other people who also have a disability.

The day forms part of a series of events which have already begun called ‘15 for 15’ in celebration of the club's birthday and as Berkshire's oldest competitive wheelchair basketball team.

Nicola Williamson, centre manager at Broad Street Mall, said: "We're really excited to welcome the Kings to Broad St Mall this weekend.

"It promises to be a really fun event that everyone can get involved with as well as raising awareness of such a great sport and a valuable local club."
