The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

October 15:

DAMIEN TAPHOUSE, 48, of Collis Street, Reading, admitted harassment in Reading on September 20. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation requirements and made subject to a restraining order. Ordered to undertake 120hours unpaid work and must pay £90 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

DAVID BOWYER, 45, of Mylum Close, Reading, admitted racially or religiously aggravated harassment without violence in Reading on June 14. Given a conditional discharge for six months, and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

MOHAMED DARWISH, 28, of Home Farm Close, Reading, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on July 17. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge. Must also pay £620 court costs.

October 16:

JIMMY FRANKHAM, 22, of Manor Lane, Thatcham, admitted possession of cannabis in Wokingham on October 14. Fined £100.

ALEXANDER BUCKLEY, 29, of Lowfield Road, Caversham in Reading, admitted drug-driving in Ashampstead Road in Bradfield on May 14. Found to have cannabis in his blood. Fined £200 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12months.

JACK FOX, 23, of Henley Road, Caversham in Reading, admitted two charges of assault by beating in Reading on September 28. Fined £480 and ordered to pay £48 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Also banned from Be at One bar in Gunn Street, Reading, for 12 months.

DANIEL HOWARD, 32, of Sayers Close in Newbury, admitted drink-driving in Bury’s Bank Road, Thatcham, on September 28. Found to have 85mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £370 and ordered to pay £37 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 20months.

MELISSA OATES, 36, of Severn Way, Tilehurst in Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on May 4. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

LUKE RICHARDSON, 24, of Hunters Hill in Burghfield, admitted assault by beating of two police officers in Mortimer, Reading, on September 27. Given a community order to include rehabilitation activity and must also undertake 160 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £200 compensation.

CEZARY STEIN, 33, of Alston Mews, Thatcham, admitted drink-driving in Ilkley Way, Thatcham, on September 29. Found to have 67mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £40 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for three years.

October 17:

JAVIES CATLYN, 31, of Severn Way, Tilehurst in Reading, convicted of failing to provide a specimen for analysis in Reading on February 23. Also convicted of failing to surrender to Reading Magistrates’ Court on August 6 having been released on bail. Fined £325 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £350 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

MATTHEW WALTER, 37, of Salisbury Road, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on May 15 and admitted the same charge on March 28. Admitted assault by beating in Reading on March 21 and assault by beating in Reading on March 7. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to undertake 70 hours unpaid work. Made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £200 compensation and must pay £85 court costs.

MICHAEL COLLINS, 29, of Martin Close, Woodley, admitted handling stolen goods by being in possession of a stolen bank card in Perfect Fried Chicken in Oxford Road, Reading, on June 1. Sentenced to prison for four weeks suspended for 12 months due to previous convictions. Ordered to pay £100 compensation.

PAUL DOWNTON, 59, of Newcastle Road, Reading, admitted driving while disqualified in Addington Road, Reading, on June 8. Also admitted using a vehicle in public without the correct insurance on the same occasions. Given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work. Must also pay £85 and ordered to pay £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 24 months.

ASHLEY PAGE, 36, of Southend in Cold Ash, Thatcham, admitted drink-driving in Southend, Cold Ash, Thatcham, on October 2. Found to have 91mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Admitted driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence in Thatcham on October 2, and admitted using a vehicle in Thatcham without the correct insurance on the same day. Given a community order to comply with alcohol treatment and must also carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 24 months.

LEO BOWYER, 18, of Landrake Crescent, Reading, admitted using a vehicle in public in Northumberland Avenue, Reading, without the correct insurance on July 5. Also admitted using a vehicle without the correct licence on the same occasion. Admitted driving on the same occasions without due care and attention. Fined £180 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Seven points added to driving licence.

JACK CARTER, 28, of Hazeldene, Chieveley, admitted stealing £53.23 worth of alcohol from Regency Park Hotel in Thatcham on May 8. Admitted stealing £41.92 worth of alcohol from the same hotel on May 9. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £95.15 compensation. Also ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

October 18:

NASIR CHOWDHARY, 47, of Vastern Road, Reading, admitted vehicle interference in Reading with the intention of theft on April 14. Givena community order to comply with 80 hours of unpaid work. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

SONYA MOSS, 45, of Newtown Road, Newbury, admitted possession of a controlled class A drug namely heroin in Camp Hobson Carpark, London Road in Newbury, on October 17. Also admitted possession of class A drug Crack cocaine on the same day in the same location. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

JORDAN TYLER, 23, of no fixed abode, admitted fraud by false representation by using a Barclays debit card belonging to someone else without the owners permission in Reading on October 13. Also admitted handling stolen goods by being in possession of a Barclays debit card that was not in your name on the same occasion. Sentenced to 28 days in prison due to previous offending. Ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.

October 19:

JONATHON WHITNALL, 44, of Whitley Wood Road, Reading, admitted stealing five packets of chicken and 10 packets of beef worth £54 from Iceland in Woodley on October 1. Also admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

October 21:

HASNAAT ASGHAR, 32, of Norris Road, Reading, admitted speeding in a vehicle on A3339 Sandleford Link road, in Newbury, above the 50mph limit. Fined £150 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

AMANDA BASDEN, 39, of Love Lane, Donnington in Newbury, admitted stealing £40 worth of meat from Aldi in Basingstoke Road, Reading, on June 18. Also admitted stealing perfume worth £143 from Boots in Reading on September 27, and admitted stealing perfume worth £226 from Boots in Reading on September 27. Also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Reading Magistrates’ Court on October 16 having been released on bail. Given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge.

PATRICK BUTLER, 26, of New Lane Hill, Tilehurst in Reading, admitted failing to cooperate with a roadside preliminary test on a ‘Drager machine’ in Reading on March 30, 2019. Also failed to provide specimen for analysis as driver of a vehicle in Reading on March 30. Fined £750 and ordered to pay £75 victim surcharge, plus £500 court costs.

ROBERT IGNACZAK, 31, of Alexandra Road, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Alexandra Road, Reading, on March 14. found to have 70mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £280 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £700 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 38 months.

WAYNE BARTHOLOMEW, 32, of Gaywood Drive, Newbury, admitted failing to comply with requirements of a community order by not attending rehabilitation activity on February 27, 2018, and a programme on December 27, 2017, and February 22, 2018. Original offence for which the community order was made related to criminal damage to a a mobile phone wirth £600 in Thatcham on May 5, 2017. Given a community order to comply with requirements by April 20, 2021, including rehabilitation activity. Also ordered to pay £75 court costs.

STEPHANIE FARMER, of Calver close in Winnersh, admitted failing to give information about the identity of a driver or rider when asked to by police in Oxford Spires Business Park, Kidlington, on March 27. Fined £70 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge. Six points added to driving licence.

October 22:

MICHAEL MCNAMARA, 29, of no fixed abode, admitted failing to comply with a community order by not attending unpaid work on September 15 and did not attend an appointment on September 8. Original offence includes possession of cocaine in Reading on June 14, 2019, and a further offence of being in possession of cannabis on the same occasion. Sentenced to prison for 12 weeks due to ‘wilful and persistent failure to comply with community order’.

PAUL DAY, Pell Street, Reading, admitted assault by beating in Reading on July 8. given a community order to comply with rehabilitation activity and made subject to a restraining order. Also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £200 court costs.

PAUL FRANCIS, 46, of Russell Street, Reading, admitted stealing fragrances worth £375 from Fenwick in Bracknell on March 31. Given a community order to comply with drug rehabilitation activity. Ordered to pay 3375 compensation.

JOSH FASTNEDGE, 25, of Stanshawe Road, Reading, convicted of failing to comply with notification requirements of a sex offenders register in Reading on March 2. Fined £120 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge. Must also pay £300 court costs.

TAJINDER LIDDER, 37, of Wokingham Road, Earley, admitted drink-driving in Wokingham Road, Earley, on May 4. found to have 85mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. also admitted driving in church Road, Earley, when using a mobile phone on May 4. Fined £663 and ordered to pay £49 victim surcharge, plus £500 court costs. Disqualified form driving for 20 months.

TOMISHA ROWE, 18, of Colliers Way, Reading, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on February 4. Givena community order to comply with curfew requirements using an electronic monitoring tag for four weeks between 8pma and 7am. Made subject to a restraining order and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

SONNER TODD, 45, of no fixed abode convicted of assault by beating in Reading on September 3. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison as the assault was in a public place and spit was involved. ALso ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge.

October 23:

TRACY BRAIN, 43, of The Meadway, Tilehurst, admitted speeding in A35 Puddletown Bypass, Puddletown, on February 24. Found to be doing 89mph in a 70mph zone. Fined £72 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Three points added to driving licence.

EMMA RUSSELL, of Mount Road, Thatcham, admitted speeding on the Bath Road in Woolhampton on March 2. Found to be doing 38mph in the 30mph zone. Also admitted speeding in a large goods vehicle on a restricted road namely Wellington Street in Slough, on February 24. Found to be doing 36mph in the 30mph road. Fined £80 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge. Six points added to driving licence.

ANDREW PRIDHAM, 41, of no fixed abode, admitted criminal damage to a property by damaging a bedroom wall in Bucklebury, Reading, on October 5. Convicted of an offence while subject to a community order, the original offence being shouting verbal abuse which a restraining order banned him from doing so in Newbury on September 25. Also originally convicted of damaging a door in Thatcham on September 27.
