Elderly residents will get to take part in a range of bird-themed activities such as topping up their bird feeders and counting how many birds are in the garden.

Ann Harcup, lifestyle coordinator at Larkland House, explained why exploring wildlife is an important activity.

She said: “Larkland House is thrilled to be participating in a celebration of British birds alongside Care UK homes across the country.

“We want to get back to nature by taking part in a host of activities, including finding out more about a variety of birds of prey." Residents will also get to enjoy meeting birds of prey at the care home and learn about their different breeds.

Ms Harcup added: "It is really important that residents are supported to continue an active lifestyle, so this is a great opportunity for everyone to get out and enjoy some fresh air.

"It promises to be a great day, so we’re all looking forward to rediscovering the great outdoors and learning more about our feathered friends.”
