YOUNG musicians will get to showcase their talent at an exciting upcoming competition.

LVS in Ascot will host the local round of the Rotary Young Musician competition on Tuesday January 21 at 6pm.

The four-stage National competition aims to encourage development of musical talent for amateurs in full time education up to the age of 17.

It will feature 14 talented and accomplished young musicians, 5 vocalists and 9 instrumentalists.

The young musicians will compete in front of judges, performing their own chosen programme of no longer than 10 minutes.

There will be two winners and runners-up from the vocal and instrumental section will be put forward to the District Round of the competition, eventually leading towards the National Finale.

Young people get to experience performing publicly on stage and the competition is a chance to showcase their musical talent and gain impartial feedback from adjudicators.

Entry is free and the general public is welcome to attend with light refreshments provided.
