BRACKNELL residents are invited to learn about the history of the town in an exciting trip to Germany.

Bracknell Forest Twinning Association is welcoming keen locals to join dignitaries on a four day stay in Traben-Trarbach before travelling to Leverkusen.

The trip is to mark the celebration of the towns history and twinning of Bracknell and Leverkusen.

Bracknell Twinning Association works with Leverkusen to arrange regular visits to their partner towns.

Councillor Mary Temperton, who is a member of the Bracknell Twinning Association, is encouraging residents to come on the trip.

She said: "“Bracknell has been twinned with Leverkusen for 47 years and we have developed a great friendship between the residents of the the two towns.

"This type of visit is very different from just a tourist weekend. We always learn so much, sharing experiences and concerns.

"Brexit will not affect Twinning and we look forward to many such trips in the future.

"Please do join us.”

Representatives of the town, famous for its wines, will show people around the city with a tour of the vineyard and wine tasting.

Then you will travel to Leverkusen by car with the twinning hosts, visiting Koblenz and celebrating with the usual twinning dinner in the evening.

The trip is from June 25 to 30 and costs £400 per person, which includes flights from London to Frankfurt and return from Dusseldorf or Cologne airport.
