FOLLOWING the success of its inaugural year in September, Down At The Abbey Festival has announced it will return for its second year in 2020.

The festival will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020.

Created by the award-winning team behind Are You Listening? Festival, Down At The Abbey is a multi-stage music festival held in the Grade I Listed site of the Reading Abbey Ruins.

This year’s maiden event was a storming success with more than one thousand revellers in attendance and unforgettable live music performances from the likes of BC Camplight, Kathryn Joseph, The Wave Pictures, Rozi Plain and many more.

Festival goers enjoyed more than one thousand pints of award-winning craft beer from Siren Craft Brew; Reading Museum had a pop-up stall and character actors; and some of Reading’s most popular street food vendors were serving up a storm including Anonymous Coffee, Makan Malaysia and We Are Friends.

Festival organiser Dave Maul explained: "We couldn’t be happier with how our first year went.

"The music was brilliant, the setting was ethereal and everyone we’ve spoken to really loved it.

"We’re really excited to be doing it again next year and we’ve got loads of ideas bubbling away to make it even bigger and better."
