EMERGENCY service workers and frontline NHS staff will get access to the gym and leisure centre this Christmas for free.

Everyone Active in Bracknell Leisure Centre is offering a 'gesture of goodwill' to those who have to be away from family and working unsociable hours during the festive period.

Anyone who has a valid Emergency Services ID card will be granted free-of-charge access to the gym and swimming pools from December 23 to December 31.

David Bibby, managing director at Everyone Active, said: “We respect the hard work Emergency Services and NHS colleagues carry out all year round to protect the health and wellbeing of local communities. At Christmas, many colleagues will work especially long hours and additional shifts to keep us all safe and well. This initiative is our way of showing our appreciation for the invaluable work they do.”

The initiative aims to keep emergency service workers feeling healthy and happy with exercise proven to release endorphins.
