AN ELDERLY woman has been rushed to hospital with chest injuries after a crash involving three cars took place.

Three cars crashed on the A322 Bagshot Road in Bracknell at around 1pm causing one road to be closed.

An elderly woman was rushed to Royal Berkshire Hospital via Thames Valley Air Ambulance with chest injuries and three other people were treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Police and emergency services have reopened the A322 Bagshot Road in both directions. 

A South Central Ambulance Spokesman said: "We received multiple 999 calls just before 13:00 all reporting a collision between 2-3 cars outside Bracknell Leisure Centre.

"We sent an ambulance, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care car to the scene.

"One elderly female who was driving one of the cars involved sustained chest injuries and after initial treatment at the scene has been taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with the TVAA team travelling with her in the ambulance; three other patients with minor injuries were assessed and treated at the scene."

There was heavy traffic from the A3095 Bagshot Road Horse and Groom roundabout towards Opladen Way near the leisure centre.
