DANCERS took to the stage and showcased their talent in a bid to shine in a school dance challenge.

Students at LVS Ascot performed on November 12 to demonstrate their confidence and creativity they have gained at the school.

The auditorium was filled with about 200 people, entertained by the dancers from as young as four to 17 and 18-years-old taking on the Principal's Dance Challenge.

Gina Timm, a mum who watched her daughter perform, said: "One of the things we love about the school is that it gives children the chance to try different things and during that process they have the chance to find something they are really passionate about."

There were 36 performances in total with best group awards being handed out and one girl called Freya, winning the Year 0 - 4 Best Solo category for her exceptional ballet performance.

Jess Clark, drama teacher, said: “I have seen the students every lunchtime in the drama studio practicing, collaborating and working hard, which has to help them in their other subjects, especially those where they come together in groups.

"It gives them the confidence to excel not just on stage but in other areas of school life as well".
