AS CHRISTMAS tiptoes ever closer, top boyband BLAKE will be getting theatre-goers in the festive mood next month - with a special one-night show in Bracknell.

The trio - made up of schoolfriends Ollie Baines, Stephen Bowman and Humphrey Berney - will bring their Christmas Classics show to the Wilde Theatre on Wednesday, December 18.

With atmospheric lighting and a sprinkling of their famous ‘off-piste’ banter, Stephen, Humphrey and Ollie will be taking music fans on a sparkling tour of the season of goodwill through the years, performing timeless songs such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Let it Snow and White Christmas, with the warmth that only their rich vocal harmonies can deliver.

The band members knew each other during their schooldays but they reunited as adults reportedly after getting back in touch through social media.

They recorded their first, self-titled, album in 2007 - and promptly won the Classical Brit Award for Album of the Year 2008.

The success of their first album saw their career take off.

Their second album, And So It Goes, peaked at number 12 in the UK pop charts and reached number one in several classical charts around the world.

During 2008 and 2009 the group undertook triumphant tours of Australia and Japan, bringing their unique brand of music to an expanding global audience.

2009 continued to be a whirlwind year for the boys with a big UK tour, the creation of their new record label, Blake Records, and the release of their third album, Together, which enjoyed huge chart success.

In 2013 Blake launched their fourth album Start Over in the UK and the USA, revealing a new contemporary and original harmony sound.

Towards the end of 2014, BLAKE released their fifth album In Harmony and and also recorded their first Christmas Album A Classic Christmas.

To celebrate their 10th Anniversary in 2018 BLAKE released their anniversary album in March which shot straight to number one in the UK Classical Charts.

Their Bracknell show next month promises great music, funny stories and a ‘virtual duet’ with Dame Shirley Bassey.
