A RESTAURANT which has been serving the heart of the Ascot community for 10 years is closing down.

Ascot Grill announced on social media that they have closed (November 14) and a new Italian business called Pazzia will be taking over in the new year.

Owners of the restaurant posted on Facebook to say: "The decision has been made to close Ascot Grill as of today.

"We have run the business for 10 years but it is now time to move on and concentrate on other projects. A local operator (Pazzia) will be taking over and is due to open early 2020. We wish him the very best.

"We have had some great times and have enjoyed meeting so many lovely people.

"We will miss you all and look forward to seeing you around."

Shocked residents responded to the post by describing Ascot Grill as an "integral" hub for the community. #

Alyson Bartaby, Ascot resident, said: "So sad to hear the news. Ascot grill has been such an integral part of the Ascot community. Wishing the team well in their future pursuits."

Another resident said: "It will be a shame to see it go as I have lived here for 5 years. 

"Although, having something different on the high street always keeps it interesting."
