A STRING of burglaries where houses have been ransacked in Bracknell has sparked a police warning to residents.

In the first week of November, police have attended at least eight burglaries across Harmans Water, Owlsmoor, Forest Park, College Town .

On November 5, after 9.14pm, two homes in Hepworth Croft were broken into by thieves.

On the same night, a home in Appletree Way just 1 mile away was also smashed into where burglars ransacked the home and stole jewellery and money.

More burglaries took place between 6pm and 9pm where thieves cut a panel out of the rear door in Uffington Drive and stole jewellery and cash.

The following day on November 6, two homes in Fawler Mead were broken into.

Burglars smashed the glass and ransacked the home, stealing electricals and cash and jewellery.

A seventh home in Wychwood Avenue, was also broken into that night with burglars kicking the door down and ransacking a home.

On the same night, a burglar broke into a home in East Stratton Close where they stole a watch, cash and jewellery.

With the clocks going back and darker evenings, police are sending out strong warnings to Bracknell residents to be vigilant and take extra measures to secure their homes.

Detective Sergeant Marc Boyd of the local CID, said:“ We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any one of the incidents or who may have information to call our 24 hour contact centre on 101.
