The pupils were given a guided tour of the 11 constructed social rent home alongside Wokingham Borough Council Mayor, Councillor Bill Soane.

Tape Lane is expected to open next month and will offer more space for people to rent homes in Wokingham.

Children were given a sneak peak and learned about the materials used to build the new council houses, which are different to the traditional council housing once built over 20 years ago.

The 11 new homes consist of a range of two and three bedroom houses as well as one four bedroom bungalow.

Mayor Cllr Bill Soane said: "I thoroughly enjoyed being on hand for the school children’s guided tour of our Tape Lane development. They were very inquisitive and asked lots of well-informed questions on construction, sustainability and the environment.
