Protesters are pitched up alongside a busy road for the third day in a row amid a row over controversial HS2 road widening works in Great Missenden.

Pictures taken by Alice Vranch today show campaigners holding up placards and posters including "honk if you hate HS2" and "save the Chilterns", while contractors get on with the contentious Link Road widening plans - which will see several mature trees cut down.

Flags with the Extinction Rebellion logo on it and the words "save me" hang from the doomed trees.

The work officially got underway yesterday, but campaigners braved the rain to pitch up there on Monday.

Some campaigners appear to have slept at the site overnight, with a number of tents set out alongside the roadworks area.
