YOUNGSTERS can try out a new sport during the October half term.

Wokingham Borough Council is hosting Active Kids sports sessions so children can try trampolining, athletics, badminton, cricket, dodge balls and tennis.

The activities are available for five to 12-year-old's and will take place at St Crispin's leisure centre and Loddon Valley leisure centre from October 28 to November 1.

A one-to-one buddy scheme is also available to allow children and young people with additional needs to attend as well.

The half-term also sees the launch of the council's new rugby camp in celebration of the Rugby World Cup.

Crowthorne Rugby Club will host the final day of the camp with three fun filled days launching at Cantley Park.

Councillor Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, said: “We are so lucky to have such brilliant opportunities available for our children in Wokingham.

"Holiday camps like this give children the confidence to interact with new people, build friendships and stay active with all kinds of great sporting fun to be had.

“There’s not long until half term, so don’t forget to book to avoid disappointment. Whether it’s just a day session or the full week’s camp, there will be something for all children to enjoy.”
