“WE HAVE always been proud of Bracknell Forest as being the borough of opportunity" – that’s the message from leader Paul Bettison as the council sets out its priorities for the next four years.

Bracknell Forest Council (BFC)’s bosses have developed a plan to 2023 which identifies six key areas the authority will focus on in the coming years.

Within these six priorities, BFC will look to target ‘clearly identified needs’ in addressing its impact on climate change, reducing homelessness, ensuring support for the borough’s most vulnerable residents and more.

The council plan has been created as pressure on public spending remains, with ‘further significant savings needed’ over the next five years, according to a BFC report.

Election commitments from the Bracknell Conservatives’ manifesto are the basis for the plan, which aims to provide BFC with a ‘strategic direction’.

Cllr Paul Bettison OBE, Leader of BFC, said: “With inevitable challenging times ahead particularly in relation to funding, these objectives will provide focus for our future actions to provide essential services to our residents, spending money wisely on clearly identified needs.

“We have always been proud of Bracknell Forest as being the borough of opportunity and a place where diversity and culture are recognised as a strength.

BFC’s top team are set to approve the plan at a meeting on Tuesday, October 22.
