UNPOPULAR PROPOSALS to build nearly 200 homes in Warfield have been chucked out by planning bosses.

Developers wanted to use land at Home Farm, north of Forest Road, to construct the houses but Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) chiefs said it would be “harmful” to the countryside.

The proposed site was located outside a settlement area and planning bosses claimed the development would mean people would have poor access to services.

Harm to Home Farm as a listed building was another concern highlighted as experts listed eight reasons in total for the plan’s refusal.

Objections from 60 residents were received by BFC after developers submitted proposals in January 2019.

Proposals for the building of 197 homes included 59 affordable houses.

Most of the houses would have been three-bedroom homes, with up to 462 people expected to have moved in had the plans been approved.

The settlement would have been supported by the creation of a new roundabout on Forest Road.
