BRACKNELL’S McDonald’s bosses want to change the layout of the store after one person complained of an “incredibly dangerous” design.

Plans have been sent to the council after one resident claimed to have slipped at the front of the eatery.

Alterations to the ramp at the entrance of the restaurant are being proposed so it is less steep.

The resident commented: “The current ramp design is incredibly dangerous, particularly when wet.

“It is inaccessible to many as well as causing a danger to even the most able of walkers.

“I slipped and as a result, suffered from whiplash.

“This work needs to be done as soon as possible.”

Planning bosses have yet to make a decision on the proposal.

McDonald’s was originally located next to TGI Friday’s on Eagle Lane after The Lexicon opened but soon relocated a few hundred yards to its current spot on High Street.

Bracknell’s McDonald’s has been in the news a lot recently after the fast-food restaurant finally installed frosting on its windows to stop customers looking into flats opposite.

Neighbours had been unhappy with hungry diners having a direct view of their homes but after more than nine months and meeting with Silva Homes and councillors, the store added the screening last week.

The News understands McDonald's is not applying for permission because of the resident's incident.

A spokesperson said: "We’ve submitted an application to lower the ramp to ensure our restaurant remains accessible and welcoming for all.

"We look forward to working with the council on our submission.”
