THE University of Reading has been named the fourth best university in the south east by The Sunday Times.

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 has ranked the University of Reading as the fourth best university in the south east - joint with the University of Sussex.

Nationally, the University of Reading ranked 38th, climbing two places from last year's 40th place.

The new edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 provides the definitive rankings for UK universities and the most comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain.

It includes profiles on 134 universities and the definitive UK university rankings, making use of the latest data published in the past two months.

The University of Oxford remains top in the Southeast, followed by the University of Southampton and the University of Surrey.

The University of Bedfordshire places last and ranks 128th nationally, down seven places from last year.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 provides students and their parents with a first reference point on the path to finding a university place.

The league table is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
