READING East MP, Matt Rodda, has described parliament as "dramatic” yesterday.

MPs voted to take control of parliamentary business, against Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

328 MPs voted for a motion which aimed to make sure the UK leaves the EU with a deal including 21 Conservative MPs who defied their party and were stripped of the party whip.

Mr Rodda voted for the motion.

He explained: “We are living in unprecedented times and it is really important in my view that we get this right and protect the country from no deal.”

Today, MPs want to introduce a bill to force the government to ask for an extension to leaving the EU if no deal can be agreed.

Mr Rodda continued to explain it’s a “fork in the road”.

He said: “I think it is vital that today’s bill gets passed and stops no deal.”

He is concerned about disruption to people’s jobs and public services such as the NHS if no deal were to go ahead and the impact on the community.

He described no deal as a "disaster" and a "really worrying prospect”.

Mr Rodda backs a second referendum with a realistic soft Brexit deal and the option to remain.

He thinks that there is more information now than there was during the referendum campaign which had lots of misinformation.
