Fuchsias and pelargoniums filled Gardeners Hall on Saturday as a veteran organisation staged one of its popular shows.

Windsor & Slough Chrysanthemum, Fuchsia and Pelargonium Society held its second amalgamated fuchsia and pelargonium show at the hall in St Leonard's Road.

In the fuchsia section veteran members Bob Clarke, Ray Birt and Sid Garcia vied for trophies after gaining most marks.

Ray Birt won for the trophy for best exhibit and best pot, while Bob Clarke won the for the whitest fuchsia.

In the pelargonium section Denis Collman took most of the trophies but Liz Gray and Brenda Munro also managed to take a trophy each.

There was interest in the other classes and although there were no trophies for the winners, Liz Gray, Alex Burke and Denis Collman managed between them to take most of the prize money. All trophies were presented by Heather Wiles, former mayoress of the Royal Borough.

Now members are looking forward to the chrysanthemum, dahlia and vegetable Show on Tuesday evening September 17.
