A CHOIR group sung performed with passion as they raised much needed funds for a worthwhile charity.

The Ascot Community Choir and Ascot Ukulele Group raised £566 for Bracknell Parkinson's UK when they put an evening of musical entertainment.

Members of the choir gathered at All Saints' Church in Ascot along with musician Emily Blyth, who performed some of her own songs and several of her young students displayed renditions of classical pieces on the piano.

Emily Blyth said: “It is a pleasure each summer to organise a charity concert, giving my choir, ukulele group and piano students an opportunity to share their music with the community and raise money for a good cause at the same time.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the event and am delighted with the sum we have managed to raise for Bracknell Parkinson’s.”

The choir and ukulele group performed a range of traditional ballads.

Will Hague, secretary of Bracknell Parkinson's Branch, said: “I would like to thank Emily, the Choir and the Ukulele Group for putting on such an enjoyable evening and for raising such a large sum for us.

"The donation will be used to help provide services for our members which help alleviate their condition of Parkinson’s, such as hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, and so we are very grateful for their support.”
