A CARE home invited guests to enjoy art-themed fun and games which celebrates the role of arts within the care system.

Larkland House in Ascot hosted the party for the community to mark Care Home Open Day where they unveiled a collection of art.

The day was set up as a UK wide initiative for residents to build relationships with their local care home and to disparage the myths about what life is like living in a care home.

Maggie Candy, home manager at Larkland House, said: "Everyone at Larkland House had an amazing time celebrating with the local community for Care Home Open Day 2019.

"This year’s theme of ‘Celebrating Arts in Care’ was a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase all the brilliant activities we get up to on a daily basis here at Larkland House."

Residents had the opportunity to showcase their designs to family and friends and visitors took part in arts and crafts workshops.

Maggie added: “The people of Ascot have always been welcoming to us, so it was great to host everyone for a day of fun in the sun.”
