A CHARITY which has provided support for the elderly for nearly 60 years has been awarded £1,000 from a housebuilder.
of Crowthorne has
received the moneyfrom Barratt Homes' regional Community Fund, which will help the charity fund its new day centre, 'Building a Better COATS project'.
The local housebuilder, which has developed the Cricket Field Grove in Crowthorne, launched its fund at the start of the year.

COATS provides a social space for elderly residents in the area, offering regular entertainment and activities, hot meals and transport to and from the day centre.
David Wilson, COATS trustee, comments: “I would like to thank Barratt Southern Counties for their generous donation, which will provide financial support for our ongoing activities at COATS.
"In particular it will help with our “Building a Better COATS” project, which we have just launched to refurbish and update our premises."
