BOOK enthusiasts joined Alice in Wonderland themed characters to celebrate the launch of a brand-new and exciting library in Harmans Water.

Residents, pupils and special guests celebrated the official launch of the library with a tea party theme on Monday, June 17.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Ash Merry, said: "This library is not just an oasis for people who find comfort in books and reading, it is a community hub." The recently appointed deputy Mayor read out a story to pupils from Holly Spring and Crown Wood Primary School.

Harmans Water library opened its doors to the public on April 8 but finally celebrated its new facility last week.

Bracknell residents will get to enjoy its improved services and extended opening hours with its new technology allowing users to access the library outside normal staffed hours.

The library also proved a larger and brighter feel with modern technology for locals to enjoy.

On the day of the celebrations, guests enjoyed balloon modelling, storytelling and eating cakes.

Cllr Ash Merry added: "Community is at the heart of everything we do in Bracknell Forest.

"It is an amazing resource and neighbourliness at its very best."
