THE council has removed Brexit Party posters from traffic lights and lamp posts after advertising for the group was spotted around the borough.
Residents have taken to social media to alert the Electoral Commission and Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) of the fly-posting over the last few days.
@ElectoralCommUK What are the rules on fly-posting advertising in an election? @BracknellForest traffic junctions have been covered today by The Brexit Party advertising. Fly posting is certainly illegal under the 1980 Highways Act or the 1990 Town & Country Planning Act. pic.twitter.com/ddXTBUY0r4

Now the authority has confirmed it has taken down all posters that have been identified.
BFC urged residents to report any further sightings to the authority’s highways team.
According to Environment Law, "fly-posting is illegal (in certain circumstances) under the Highways Act 1980 and the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
Hello @BracknellForest Seems someone’s been flyposting round the Bracknell area. I’m sure you’ll want to get these removed ASAP. pic.twitter.com/zOLSiNParG

"Offences under the 1980 Act include that of obliterating a traffic sign, while under the 1990 Act it is an offence to display an advertisement in a way that breaches specified regulations."
Posters have been attached to traffic lights and lamp posts just days before the European elections.
I’ve spotted 2 Brexit Party signs on lampposts on A329 heading west just before Running Horse roundabout & other at Eastern Rd roundabout @LarsSwann
