A GRANT of £1,000 is being offered to help reduce isolation for residents living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Berkshire MS Therapy Centre is hoping to receive as many nominations as possible before the deadline on May 17.

Winners will be drawn at random and - the more times the centre is nominated - the more chance it has of being selected.

Samantha Harper, fundraising manager, said: "£1,000 would make an enormous difference to the support we can give the local MS community.

"It is very fitting that this competition starts in MS Awareness week.

"Understanding of MS and its life changing effects is very low among the general population and it is not surprising that three out of five people with the condition feel lonely."

As part of the scheme, 500 charities will receive £1,000.
