MOTORISTS are advised to plan their journeys due to potential delays on the M4 caused by building works on the bridges at junction 13.
The repair works will start on Friday 26 to April, 29, westbound over junction 13 at Chieveley.
Drivers will have to take an alternative route from 10pm on Friday to 6am on Monday 29 April, while concrete repairs, waterproofing and resurfacing work is carried out.
The eastbound carriageway will remain open, however one lane will be closed for safety reasons.
A second weekend closure will take place from Friday, May 10 to 6am Monday, May 13 to complete the work.
Overnight closures will also take place to install bridge joints.
Highways England said these are 'essential bridge components that help prolong the life of a structure by allowing controlled movement.
"Dates for this work will be communicated nearer to the time.
"Highways England has worked closely with the local councils, the police and other stakeholders to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum during the work."
