THE LEXICON has announced the return of The Proms with five evenings of musical entertainment planned for the summer months.

Visitors will be able sit on the giant steps covered with green grass to watch the bands, singers and choirs.

The first event will feature four acts on Saturday, May 4 at Bond Square from 4pm to 7.30pm.

The Candy Girls, will be performing songs from the 40s and 50s.

Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon says: “We had so much positive feedback about The Lexicon Proms last year, that we wanted to bring it back, bigger and better for 2019.

“It’s free to attend and provides the perfect platform to bring the community together, with a wide range of musical acts appealing to all ages.”

Remember Monday, a local country trio, who recently featured on ITV’s The Voice will also be performing.

The third act is local community choir, Vocalese, who will perform mainstream pop favourites from the last few decades.

Abi Powell, a local singer will be entertaining visitors with a selection of her own songs and well-known popular favourites.

The Lexicon Proms will also take place on June 1, July 6, August 3 and September 7.
