A NEW charity shop has opened in Bracknell, which will help raise money for a local trust and provide employment opportunities to those who find it hard to get work.

Bracknell Forest Borough Mayor councillor Alvin Finch and Bracknell Town Mayor Councillor Sandra Ingham attended the opening of the new charity shop Forget-me-Knot in Wildridings.

A plack was unveiled inside the shop to mark the opening, which will raise money for The Ark Trust and provide employment opportunities for people who find it difficult to get a job.

The charity, which is based in Bracknell provides a number of services to local people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.

Andrea McCombie, CEO of the Ark Trust, said: "With a focus on quirky, vintage, retro and unique Forget-me-Knot will compliment rather than compete with the other established charity shop in the shopping precinct.

"It will also be a place to find new hand crafted and upcycled items."

Britain's got Talent magician Jamie Raven, who is patron of the charity was also on hand to perform an array of magic tricks for everyone to enjoy.

The shop opened on Monday, April 1.
