A SHINFIELD man has pleaded guilty to murdering his wife on Boxing Day.
Officers were called to the home of Laurens Bland in Parker Close on December 27, and Angela Mittal, 41, was found deceased in the property.
Angela had suffered stab wounds to her neck and chest.
Bland, 47, appeared in Reading Crown Court on Friday, March 22.
Senior investigating officer detective inspector Mike Roddy, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: "First, I would like to extend my sympathy to the people who knew and loved Angela Mittal.
"She was described as a kind hearted and generous person and this is the way Angela will be remembered.
"Brand has pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity but the death of Angela cannot be undone.
"This was a brutal attack on his own wife, in their own home, where she should have been able to feel safe and secure."
The sentencing of Laurens Brand is due at Reading Crown Court on May 10.
