A CHARITY is looking for volunteers to trek across the Sahara Desert and fundraise for a very worthy cause.

Thames Hospice is giving residents across Berkshire the chance to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip from October 17 to 22.

Those who are interested will have to raise a minimum sponsorship target of £1,600 which raises money for the new hospice, built by Brake Lake.

The adventure includes trekking across ancient dried-up river beds, sand dunes and sun-baked plains in Morocco.

Debbie Raven, chief executive for Thames Hospice, said: "2019 is an exceptional year for us.

"In January, we embarked on building a brand new home for Thames Hospice to ensure that we can provide more care for more people in our community for generations to come."

Volunteers will get to fly to Marrakech, trek across the sand dunes in the Sahara Desert and experience traditional cuisine cooked by the local guides.

The aim is to raise money towards the charities new hospice by Bray Lake and target for sponsorship by each person is £1,600.

Debbie added: "I am so excited to be taking part and experiencing this amazing adventure together with some of our wonderful supporters, whilst raising funds for our hospice now and into the future."
