FAMOUS faces have given their support to a campaign to help a six-year-old boy in his battle against cancer.

Oliver Warner, from Bramley was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma – a type of cancer that forms in certain types of nerve tissue - in 2016 a few weeks before his third birthday, after falling ill at the end of 2015.

Since November last year his family have been campaigning to raise funds to help him get experimental antibody treatment in Barcelona.

Having started treatment earlier this year, a new way of raising awareness of Oliver’s condition has cropped up on social media.

A post on the Facebook page Oliver’s fight against Neuroblastoma introduced Oliver’s Bear along with the words “I’m going to be travelling around raising awareness trying to get spotted with some celebrities.”

Since the initial post, Oliver’s Bear has been spotted with the likes of Lorraine Kelly, Rylan Clark, Holly Willoughby and Sir Tom Jones.

The bear, which has been donated by Keel Toys, is wearing a blue t-shirt with a design made by the six-year-old on it.

In a Facebook post Oliver’s mum, Jo Warner, wrote: “Keel Toys have kindly donated to us 500 of these bears which they’ve made up with Oliver’s own personal design on their t-shirts.

“We have decided to use as an incentive to raise funding and join our army of campaigners. If you have these last few months donated or exceeded £1,000 in fundraising, you will shortly be presented with your very own Oliver Bear as a huge thank you for what you have done for him in his fight for life.”

Currently Oliver is free from neuroblastoma, however, he needs to undergo further treatment to ensure the disease does not return.

After undergoing the antibody treatment in Barcelona, the Warner family of Farriers Close, Bramley have to raise a further £235,000 by the end of June so the Bramley CofE Primary School student can receive Bivalent Vaccine treatment in New York.

More and more celebs are being snapped cuddling Oliver’s Bear to help raise awareness of the campaign, with the latest person to get involved being former X-factor judge Alesha Dixon.
