People and organisations who help make the Slough the town it is have been thanked by the town's mayor at a special reception.

They were invited to the Town Hall where Cllr Paul Sohal presented them with special certificates.

Welcomed there were representatives from PALS (Participation, Association, Leisure & Sport) in recognition of their long and dedicated service to providing sports facilities and opportunities for disabled people and their families in Slough.

The Church Street Child Contact Centre was recognised for the support and friendship it offers to separated families by providing a safe and friendly meeting place for children, parents and family members.

The health needs of Slough people were recognised by the presence of representatives from Solutions4Health and the Kumar Medical Centre.

While photographers Mike Swift and Emma Sheppard were recognised for their services to local journalism.
