RUNNERS are gearing up to take on London's half marathon this weekend to raise money for a very worthy cause.

Bewley Homes will be running on March 10 to raise funds to support Sebastian's Action Trust, which helps children with life-limiting illnesses.

Elaine Stratford, Bewley marketing director, said: "We are very proud of our team of runners for committing to the half marathon in aid of such a worthwhile charity.

"Running 13 miles is no mean feat, but we are sure this determined bunch will all cross the finish line and raise a significant amount of money for Sebastian's Action Trust."

The Vitality Big Half in London will begin at Tower Bridge, pass through Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich and finishing at Cutty Sark.

The charity, based in Crowthorne, has been supported by Bewley Homes, creating its first flagship facility The Bluebells in 2011.

A massive £24,691 donation was also gifted to the charity to help create a horticultural garden where seriously ill and disabled children can grow their own produce.

Jane Gates, creative executive at Sebastian’s Action Trust, said: “Six members of staff from Bewley Homes are running in the Vitality Big Half Marathon in London on behalf of Sebastian’s Action Trust on Sunday 10th March.

"Bewley Homes is one of our longstanding supporters and we really appreciate the fundraising efforts of everyone involved.”

The Bluebells centre delivers 100 respite breaks, 40 crisis breaks and 500 day visits for youngsters and their families every year.

Some of the people who will be taking part in the 13 mile run is Emily Clarke, Nick Chetwood, Mark Cripps and Andy Langfeld.
